Model Documentation with ModelReporter

ModelReporter offers a large set of developer-friendly and presentation quality standard reports covering the Analysis, Design and Construction development phases. ModelReporter creates its reports dynamically using Word, Excel and HTML and all reports are based on fully customisable templates. The ModelReporter user can also design and store custom report definitions using SQL or Access's query builder. In addition to supporting the creation of high quality reports containing user-defined information, this allows the developer to quickly answer ad-hoc questions such as “Which Procedure Steps have no descriptions?” or “Which entity types have a STATUS attribute?” or “What prompts are used for this entity/attribute across the different windows in the system?” There is also a preview feature which allows report contents to be viewed in advance of document generation.

An important feature of ModelReporter is its ability to combine sets of Word extracts, both standard and user-defined, into ‘specifications’. An example of this is the Data Model Specification, which includes entity descriptions and properties, attribute properties and relationship properties in a single Word document. Specifications may be user-defined and, like individual extracts, are template based and therefore fully customisable. An organisation may use this capability to standardise project reporting by creating an organisation-specific set of project/model specification definitions containing different sets of information, perhaps at different levels of detail, to be used at different project stages and for different purposes.

ModelReporter is the leader in CBD component publishing. CBD compliant component specification documents can be created from both Specification and Implementation models. There is also a facility to validate your model object names against the CBD standards.

ModelReporter can generate bitmap pictures of the Windows in your model and include these automatically in your ModelReporter-generated Word documents. System documentation has never been so easy.

As well as its comprehensive set of standard reports, ModelReporter comes with its custom query database pre-populated with more than 80 example custom query reports and 10 pre-defined specifications.
